Lilac :
Prized for its soft perfume, the lilac flourished in Turkey and was introduced to Europe by the French. Although they are the products of long-living tree, the lilac’s grapelike clusters of tiny flowers have a short life after being cut, so they are used sparingly at weddings. The lilac is at its peak in spring, and single-and double-flowered varieties come in white, pink, lavender, and purple.
