FOCUS ON … White
When it comes to timeless elegance, it’s no surprise to discover that more and more brides want to keep to tradition and walk down the aisle clutching a beautiful bouquet of pure white blooms.
For the ultimate in bridal style, you can’t beat white flowers. With their innocent appeal and breathtaking array of scents and blooms, it’s little wonder that white flowers have been one of the most popular bridal choices for years. Originally chosen to symbolize purity, most modern brides choose white flowers for their classic good looks. For many, the pure white rose is still the epitome of grace – it not only looks good teamed with a range of dress styles, but it’s also a bloom that won’t go out of fashion. Alternatively, elegant ranunculus or exotic phalaenopsis orchids make beautiful bouquets. But whatever your choice, there are several advantages to incorporating white flowers into your arrangements. Whether you want to carry a gorgeous pure white hand – tied bouquet of arum lilies, or complement other colours in your posy by interspersing some white lisianthus between your wedding style. You’ll also be spoilt for choice, with seasonal flowers available all year round. White flowers often give off a more expensive and classic look than their more colorful counterparts, and because they have a clean, modern look about them which almost seem to glow at night, they’re the perfect choice for your table arrangements, and will ensure your guests are impressed with your chic displays. But beware – white flowers may be the wedding bloom of choice, but they’re more delicate than other colours and consequently are liable to bruise. Once your florist has delivered your white bouquet, take time to check for any blemished petals, and remember to ask your florist’s advice on how to ensure your flowers last all day. You’ll also need to consider how your bouquet of white blooms will photograph. If you’re having black – and – white photos as well as colour, bear in mind that ivory, textured flowers with lots of foliage will photograph a lot better than a bouquet that’s pure white and teamed against a stunning white outfit.
